If you ever played the original Final Fantasy VII and thought, “Man, this is really missing those sick EDM beats!” then artist Robobob has a treat for you. One Beat Angel FFVII is a collection of 11 remixed tracks based on the official Final Fantasy VII score by Nobuo Uematsu. Released by Materia Collective, One Beat Angel FFVII is RoboRob’s follow-up to Kingdom Heartbeats, a similar collection that remixed songs from the official Kingdom Hearts soundtrack.
RoboRob’s One Beat Angel FFVII includes reimaginings of the memorable “Victory Fanfare,” the upbeat “Chocobo Theme,” and even Aerith’s slower-paced melodic theme. The electrified beats of RoboRob’s signature style provide a unique spin to some of the most memorable songs from the Final Fantasy VII soundtrack.

The release of One Beat Angel FFVII comes a week before the first chapter of the Final Fantasy VII remake launches. It’s a fitting way to commemorate the release of the highly anticipated release, especially considering the shift from stationary turn-based action to more fluid combat is a better fit for a booming EDM playlist.
As with many that have sat down with Uematsu’s original score, RoboRob found inspiration in the orchestrated tracks. According to him, they have “always been a constant source of inspiration” in his life. “Some of my biggest and more unique ideas came to life with this remix project,” RoboRob explained in the official press release for One Beat Angel FFVII. “I’m excited to share our renditions of this classic and inspiring video game music soundtrack.”
Final Fantasy VII and Kingdom Hearts aren’t the only video game soundtracks that RoboRob put his electronic touch on. The Tampa, FL producer and DJ has also remixed tracks from Sonic Mania, Undertale, Chrono Trigger, and Overwatch.
